Algeria slipped in as one of the best 3rd-place teams, but to be honest they have more firepower up front.

So this is steady and organized against quick and exciting.

That clash of styles is exactly why nobody can be 100% sure which way it will go.

One smart Switzerland goal, or one moment of magic from Algeria, could be enough to win this one.

Switzerland are solid and hard to beat

Switzerland do not have the biggest stars, but they win games the smart way.

They came through Group B in 1st place, which takes real quality over three games.

Their captain is the midfielder Granit Xhaka, and he keeps the whole team calm and in control.

At the back, the defender Manuel Akanji is quick and almost never panics under pressure.

Up front, the striker Breel Embolo is strong and good at holding the ball until help arrives.

So Switzerland walk in with a clear plan: defend as a tight unit, stay patient, and take the one or two chances they get.

Algeria are the dangerous, attacking side

Here is why this is not a comfortable game for Switzerland.

Algeria are full of attacking talent, and on a good day they can beat anyone.

They did not win their group, so they reached this stage the hard way.

But their best player is the winger Riyad Mahrez, and near the goal he can do things most players cannot.

Next to him, the striker Amine Gouiri is quick and loves to run straight at defenders.

So if Switzerland switch off for even a second, Algeria have the players to punish them.

Why do Switzerland have the small edge?

Start with the way Switzerland defend, because they give very little away.

They stay organized for the full 90 minutes and they rarely make a defensive mistake.

That kind of team is the toughest one for an attacking side like Algeria to break down.
