This game meant little to the USA, who had already won the group, but a lot to Turkey.
Auston Trusty gave the USA an early lead in the 3rd minute.
But Turkey hit back fast, with Arda Güler tying it 1-1 in the 10th minute and Orkun Kökçü making it 2-1 in the 31st.
Sebastian Berhalter tied it again at 2-2 in the 49th minute.
Then came the drama, as Kaan Ayhan scored in the 8th minute of stoppage time to win it 3-2 for Turkey.
It was Turkey's only win of the World Cup, a proud way to end a tough campaign.
The USA, who beat Paraguay 4-1 and Australia 2-0, still finished 1st in Group D and are through.
Turkey, who lost 2-0 to Australia and 1-0 to Paraguay, still finish at the bottom of the group and exit the tournament, but on a sweet note that gave them some redemption in front of their fans.
